Outdoor Weddings

• Mountain weather can change at anytime.  You may want to look into “Plan B” for an indoor location and get it in writing.  (Tahoe Beach & Ski Club does not have an indoor location or allow tents.)
• Flowers will wilt if exposed to too much heat.  Discuss options with your florist.
• If you plan on using candles during your ceremony, remember the smallest amount of breeze will extinguish your candle.  Use half-candles in hurricanes, electric candles or have a sand ceremony.
• Offer sunscreen for your guests, or suggest they bring an umbrella or wear a wide brimmed hat.
• Light jacket for those cool morning and evening weddings.

California Marriage License 

(It’s not where you come from but where you are getting married.)

• The engaged couple must both appear together with proper identification in order to obtain a license.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.  If not, you must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian.  The under aged must also receive a court order and counseling.
• The license is valid for 90 days and will cost you anywhere from $39 - $57 for a public license.  A public license is valid in all counties.  For a confidential license, you will pay a little more and it is only valid in the county where it was purchased.
• No health certificate is required.
